Bajaj Chetak the legendary scooter is reportedly all set to make a comeback on Indian roads.
The company’s first electric two-wheeler will come under its new division – Urbanite. With the introduction of its new electric sub-brand, Bajaj will bring back its iconic Chetak brand name in the country.
‘Chetak Chic‘ , is what Bajaj named it’s upcoming electric 2-wheeler. The name has been registered by the company long back.
According to Financial Express, Bajaj is all set to launch its first-ever electric bike on Wednesday, October 16.
The event will also be attended by two special guests, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari and NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant. This scooter is also considered special for Bajaj Auto because it will be the company’s first electric scooter. However, the company has not yet given any information about this scooter.
Speculations suggest that the new Bajaj e-Chetak scooter will be priced quite competitively. It’s estimated to cost over Rs 1 lakh (on-road), and compete against models from Ather Energy, Hero Electric, Okinawa Scooters and Ampere Electric Vehicles.
