Atum 1.0 Made In India Electric Bike: No License, Registration Needed To Ride
Atumobiles Pvt. Ltd. — a Hyderabad-based electric two-wheeler startup has launched their first electric motorcycle, the Atum 1.0 in the market.
The company has designed the engine themselves from scratch and is completely proprietary. The Atum 1.0 electric bike is available all across India and is offered with a starting price of Rs 50,000.
The motorcycle has been certified by the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) as a low-speed electric two-wheeler, ready for commercial use.
Being a low-speed electric bike, the Atum 1.0 doesn’t need to be registered, nor does the rider need any licence to ride the motorcycle. This makes it perfectly suited for teenagers to use the electric bike legally for their daily commute.
Key Features Of ATUM 1.0
- Atum 1.0 will be having a 250W Electric Motor witha Top Speed of 25 kmph.
- It is powered by a lightweight portable lithium ion battery that provides a range of 100 km on a single charge and a charging time of under 4 hours.
- The battery weighs 6 kg and can be charged anywhere and at any place through a normal three pin socket consuming around 1 unit per charge. This will result in the users of the bike costing a user about Rs. 7-10 for the entire 100 km range.
- Atum 1.0 will offer a completely digital display, including LED headlight, indicators, and taillights.
The company claims that the electric bikes are being Made In India at its greenfield manufacturing facility in Telangana. The facility is claimed to have an annual production capacity of 15,000 units that can further be expanded to an additional capacity of 10,000 units.
